One of my favorite anthropomorphic children’s fantasy series is Redwall.
The Redwall series has 22 books and covers generations of animal characters who live in the fantasy world that centers around Redwall Abbey.
Today it was announced that Netflix has acquired the film rights to the entire series. An animated feature film based on the first book is already in development.
Back in 1999-2002 Nelvana produced 39 episodes in 3 seasons with each season covering one of the Redwall books. I need to see if all the episodes are available on-line. I found the first one and watched part of it tonight.
It will be good to Redwall get animated again.
I look forward to seeing the films based on the books of the series. Especially some of my favorites like The Bellmaker.
I have read the entire series, including The Rogue Crew, which was published after the death of Brian Jacques. I am now eagerly awaiting the films so I can experience the stories again and see how the characters have been imagined. Hopefully they won’t change too much the images I have in my mind of them.
Have you read all the books in the series?
