Roses in the Eaves

This year I again have roses so tall they are blooming in the eaves.

Here you can see that they are almost up into the eaves.

They are definitely getting up there.

Here is a bloom starting to open that is right up there even with the eaves.

Taking a closer look, it looks like I definitely get some painting done. This summer several of my neighbors had their houses painted and I will most likely get mine painted next summer. I have been thinking about the color combination I want. Many houses in my neighborhood have gone with a darker color, but I think I will stay with a lighter color. However, I might have some darker accents.

Now to see how long until it is time to prune back the roses. I usually wait until there are no more buds coming on.

How tall did your roses get this year? This bush is almost nine feet tall.

  1. Talking about eaves, at the Apartments here a crew reroofed all buildings, 4 apartment buildings, and a meeting room center. The cleaned the grounds of excess nails, shingles, and yes, excess leaves left by careless neighbors, 2 that willingly ignored there responsibility. This is the way I work, doing someone elses . I try to let each person be responsible. The work they do was superb.
