In just over an hour I will be heading to the airport for the long journey home from South Africa.
Last night while on the way to the shopping centre I saw a sign that required me to make another trip there today.

I saw that there was to be a book sale at the Sandton Library organized by The Friends of the Sandton Library. Of course, I had to check it out. I am involved with the same activity back home and wanted to see how they were set up.
They were set up very similar to how we organize a book sale. I took a good look through all the books and found way too many that I could carry home with me on the plane. I finally settled on a handful of books to carry home with me. More on these in a later post.
The Sandton library has a very interesting setup and it will be the subject of a later post as well.
The library is on Mandela Square so I also had to go take a picture of the giant statue of Nelson Mandela.
I then headed back to the hotel to get ready to go. I have a few more things to pack and want to take a quick shower so that I am fresh before embarking on about 22 hours of time on airplanes over the next 30 hours.
The first segment from Johannesburg to Frankfurt will be on a Lufthansa 747 and then I will be on a Lufthansa 380 from Frankfurt to San Francisco.
I am not looking forward to all the time on the plane, but it will be good to be home.
Steven
