Tonight I am thinking of Israel. This is the first summer for awhile where I am not making a trip to Israel. However, my friend Luke just arrived in Israel this week with a tour he is leading.
I have been watching for his posts on Facebook and also the posts of a few others that I know who are on the tour. I also found out that the nephew of another friend is on the tour.
Today they posted their group picture which made me think of our group picture from last year. This picture brings back so many memories as I was on the tour with six of my closest friends and made friend with others who I have kept in contact with over the last year.
Luke’s itinerary is a bit different than what ours was and this tour starts in Jerusalem.
Today they went through Hezekiah’s Tunnel. You can click on the link to learn more about my first trip through the tunnel with Luke. This was when we were on an archaeological dig together at Lachish.
It would be really nice to be in Jerusalem with them, but I knew that I would have a very busy year with a new product introduction and instead will be in China next week. I will probably miss a lot of the posts from the trip as Facebook is usually blocked there. I will have a lot to catch up on when I get home.
Next year will be a different story as I am in the planning stage for a trip to Jordan to celebrate a milestone at work that I will get an extra week of vacation for next year 🙂
I am thinking of other places they will visit in the next few days like the Western Wall.
Enough memories for now. I must get back to pre-packing for my trip.
