Today I have been thinking about a picture that was taken of me about five years ago when I was in Kyoto. This evening I had to find it and in the process of hunting it down I have been remembering the beautiful views of Kyoto.
One picture that stands out in my memory is one that I titled Blur. I was lucky to catch the moving subway car with all of the people standing still. This is a picture that I can look at again and again. I used it in my post Blur and Reflection. The reflection picture is pretty cool also.
One of the places we visited in Kyoto was Kinkaku-ji or The Temple of the Golden Pavilion. We were there on a very rare day. It seldom snows this much in Kyoto, and when it does people travel from long distances to take pictures there.
This was an absolutely beautiful place. You can see more of my pictures of the Golden Pavilion by clicking on the link.
There is also a Silver Pavilion or Ginkaku-ji in Kyoto. Here is a picture of it from a trail that takes you through the gardens that surround it.
This picture is from my post Japan Memories which also contains some other pictures from Kyoto.
This five story Pagoda at Ko-Ji is the tallest wooden structure in Japan. It is one of the landmarks of Kyoto. You can see another picture of a pagoda in my post Rashomon which is about Kyoto.
Now for the picture I was looking for. Here is a picture of me at Ginkaku-ji or Silver Pavilion.
I hope you enjoyed these pictures from Kyoto.
