Book Series

I struggled tonight to come up with a title for my post but decided on Book Series since the books I will share are all part of series.

Today at lunch I decided to go to Half Price Books since they were having a 20% off sale.

Happy Hollisters, Jerry West, Book Series, Book CollectingMy first find was a Happy Hollisters book with a dust jacket that I didn’t have.

See my post The Happy Hollisters that I wrote back in April shortly after I completed my collection of all 33 volumes of the series.

I started reading through the series in April once I had the last volume. I finished the series earlier this month.

The Happy Hollisters and the Cowboy Mystery was one title in my collection that didn’t have a dust jacket.

Here are the six titles in my collection that don’t have dust jackets. Where will I find them?

  • The Happy Hollisters at Sea Gull Beach
  • The Happy Hollisters at Circus  Island
  • The Happy Hollisters at Pony Hill Farm
  • The Happy Hollisters and the Scarecrow Mystery
  • The Happy Hollisters and the Mystery of the Golden Witch
  • The Happy Hollisters and the Mystery of the Mexican Idol

Doctor Dolittle's Puddleby Adventures, Hugh Lofting, Book SeriesI also picked up a copy of Doctor Dolittle’s Puddleby Adventures by Hugh Lofting.

There are 12 volumes in the Doctor Dolittle series and I have around half of them. Someday I will read through all of them again.

Anne of Green Gables, L. M. Montgomery, Editions, Book CollectingI also picked up a paperback edition of Anne of Green Gables that I didn’t have. I have been picking up different editions for some time. It is interesting to see the differences in cover art.

Reading through the Anne of Green Gables series was one of my challenges for 2015.

Redwall Series, Lord Brocktree, Brian Jacques, Book SeriesI have also started reading the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. I have decided to read the series in chronological order instead of in the order that they were written. I have read the first two books and so far I find it very interesting. The first one that I read was Lord Brocktree.

The Redwall series makes me think of Watership Down, but mainly just because they both have rabbits as characters and Waterhip Down has been on my mind this week since the author just passed away. See: Watership Down

Of course, there are other series that I am collecting or reading through. More on them at a later time 🙂

Now to get some more reading done before the end of the year.
