Tonight I am going to share a few bird or bird related pictures that I have taken in the last week.
I will start with a picture that I took last week as I arrived at work. For some reason each morning there have been seagulls perched on the edge of the roof.
I have been careful to make sure that none of them are perched above the door when I enter. They have dropped a few loads on the sidewalk in front of the door.
For a closer look at a Western Gull (Larus occidentalis), see my post: More Birds
One of my friends bought some nesting boxes today. I plan on writing a post about them once they have been mounted in place. Keep tuned to find out what birds they are designed for.
I also spotted several large flocks of geese today. You could definitely hear them honking even though they were flying high above the valley.
Today was a nice sunny day and I had trouble seeing the display on my camera to make sure it was aimed in the right place. However, I did get a couple of shots.
I often forget to look skyward during migration times. The San Joaquin Valley of California is right in the middle of the Pacific Flyway and the sky is sometimes full of birds.
For more about the flyway see my post: Birds in Transit
Do you live along a flyway?
