Tree Snakes

One of my followers really liked the Green Tree Python in my Creepy Critters post, so here are a few more pictures of tree snakes.

I will start with the one that I shared in the creepy critters post. This is a Green Tree Python (Morelia viridis).

Can you imagine running up against one of these while hiking down a trail in Indonesia?

Emerald Tree Boa, Corallus caninus, South America Tree Snake, Non-Venemous SnakeHere is an Emerald Tree Boa (Corallus caninus). This boa is native to South America and lives in the rain forests.

Both of these tree snakes are non-venomous, but they still look scary.

Emerald Tree Boa, Corallus caninus, South America Tree Snake, Non-Venemous SnakeI really like the markings on the boa. The white stripes are very distinctive.

The boas shown here are at least 9-12 moths or older as the juveniles are red or orange and slowly turn color during their first year.

Green is my favorite color and I think that these are beautiful snakes. However, I still don’t think I would want to play with them.

Would you hold one of these snakes?

Steven
