For the last three weeks it has been Summer Down Under for me. The first half of my trip to Australia had mostly warm sunny weather, but the second half of the trip was filled with rain and cooler temperatures.
Right before I left home I took a picture of one of my rose bushes. You can see that it was already starting to put on new growth. During the trip I have been wondering what it would look like when I got home.
Here you can see that the rose bush is rapidly growing. The other rose bushes are also rapidly sprouting new growth. I wouldn’t be surprised if I have roses blooms in another week or two.
Driving home from the airport, it didn’t seem like winter. Trees were in bloom all over the place and everything looked so green.
It feels like spring even though spring is still a month away.
One of the first things that I noticed as I pulled into my driveway was the tall grass in my front lawn. I will definitely need to mow the lawn on Saturday and also do some other yard work.
My huge back yard is also in need of mowing, but being 36 hours into my Thursday I did not feel like mowing. Two more days will not make much difference.
One of my trees already has blossoms on it. The tree is full of little white blossoms. In the picture you can see my neighbors tree in the background. Their tree is always full of pink blossoms in the spring.
Here is a closeup of the blossoms on my neighbors tree. The tree is full of blossoms and is so beautiful.
I did hear that we finally started to get some good rain showers while I was gone, and the long range forecast is calling for more rain in the near future. You can read about our water woes in my post: California Winter
I am looking forward to taking a long walk on Saturday to take some pictures in the park near my house.
It just doesn’t feel like winter, and I hope that those of you who are experiencing a hard winter will soon be able to experience a beautiful spring.
As I finish this post, I am thinking of a post I wrote during the first month of Braman’s Wanderings. I wrote a post about the Four Seasons, several times I have experienced all four seasons in a short time period.
I am glad to be home after a long day. So far it has been Thursday for more than 40 hours. Only 3 more hours to go 🙂
Steven

Welcome home!! We’re still brown, so your green grass and flowering trees are beautiful …
