When I travel for work, the first few days may be a little boring for people who may be following my trip.
In the first few days I am working hard in the classroom and recovering from jet lag in the evenings. The first days are often spent close to the hotel.
I am very familiar with the hotel that I am staying in on this trip. I have stayed here many times before. The first time I stayed here the hotel had not been opened very long. It has changed a bit since, but is also much the same. It is always interesting to see what has changed since the last visit.
On the way to work this morning I walked by the little roundabout where I took all of my Sydney Daisy pictures. Since we are so far into summer the daisies were all spent and all that was left were a shadow of their springtime glory. To see the spring daisies click on the following links:
There are still a few flowers around, but not as many as in the spring.
This evening I took a walk. First to take the picture above and then to get a bit of exercise before a light dinner.
There is a nice stand of trees near the hotel. I think that these may be Eucalyptus. I like the nice straight trunks and the nice grass growing between the nicely space trees. Very peaceful.
Here is another view of the hotel as the sun is starting to set. I like the silhouette of the tree to the left of the hotel. I may have to dig back through some of my pictures to see how much some of the trees around the hotel have grown in the last ten years.
I also saw a sliver of the moon in the sky and decided to snap a quick picture. It made me think about how far the moon will progress through the phases while I am here on this trip. Perhaps I will have some full moon pictures later in the trip.
Tomorrow night may be a class dinner as one of my students is celebrating a birthday. I may have some good food pictures.
Now back to watching sports. I have watched a ton of rugby matches this evening. They are replaying matches that were played in Las Vegas last month. They probably weren’t even broadcast in the US. Here they are showing them again 🙂
Oh, and no mention at all about that football game that was played yesterday in the US.
Steven

Very interesting, Steven, thanks!! Loved the trees.
