In October I wrote a post titled The Case of the Missing Book.
The post was about trying to find a missing volume of my two volume set of Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels and Stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
I had found Volume II, but could not find the first one.
I would like to say that I have solved the case and that I have found Volume I of this set, but the book is still missing.
I am thinking of the book again tonight as I am getting ready to watch the first episode of the third season of Sherlock. Yesterday I watched the last episode of the second season so I would be ready.
Although I didn’t find Volume I of the set shown above, I found another one that I had picked up at our library used book sale. I had found Volume I in hardback and went ahead and bought it. I had it in the back of my mind that I would keep an eye out for the second volume.
The titles of the two sets are different, but luckily the contents are still divided the same way. I have all the Sherlock stories. Plus, Volume I of the other set is around here somewhere. I need to get back on the case.
I am really looking forward to watching Sherlock tonight. I have friends in Canada who has been waiting for two ever so long years for the next season. I have only waited a few months, but am still looking forward to it.
Writing this post has me thinking of other writings by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I have read all of the Sherlock Holmes books in the past as well as The Lost World and The White Company. Doyle wrote many more books. I need to read some of them, especially the other books that feature Professor Challenger.
Now for some dinner before sitting down to watch Sherlock.
Have you been waiting for Sherlock?
Steven

I also misplace books. . . Sometime I think I have too many, but I always decide that I just need to organize them better (if I ever find the time).
Steven, you need to get on Jeopardy as you are so well read and traveled.
Is this the Sherlock from BBC? I was recommended to watch that series but haven’t found it to be on in my area at times I could watch it. 😀
Maybe your book is to be found with a pattern piece I’m missing…..mmmmm must get Sherlock on the case.
