One of my sources has confirmed that Home Pride Bread will be returning to the shelves in California on September 23.

I will be missing the return as I will be working in Mexico City through the end of next week. However, I know that when I return home I will be able to buy a loaf of Home Pride Bread.

Of course, many of you want to know when Home Pride will be returning in your area. I have not been able to find out anything specific for any other market,

Tonight I listened to part of the Flowers Foods Barclays 2013 Back-to-School Conference call from earlier this month.

Here are a few points from the call.

The reintroduction of Wonder Bread and Home Pride will start in late September and early October. The production will be integrated into the current Flowers Foods bakeries. If you live in an area where Nature’s Own Bread is available, you will most likely see Home Pride earlier than in other areas.

Flowers Foods will be using the original recipes for Home Pride and Wonder bread and will make sure that they have the same flavor profiles as when they were part of Hostess.

Flowers Foods will soon be moving into new markets along the borders of their current region. Wonder Bread will help with the introduction to new markets since it has high brand awareness.

Merita, Butternut and Nature’s Pride will also be reintroduced in the same time frame. Along with Home Pride, these are all regional brands, so will not be reintroduced nationwide.

I am looking forward to having my bread back, I hope that it lives up to my memories.
