Back Below the Border

This weekend I will be traveling to Mexico City for the second time this year.

I have been thinking of my previous trip and hope that a couple of things go better than on the last one.

On my last trip it took me 80 minutes to go through immigration when I arrived in Mexico City. I hope that it goes a bit quicker this time. You can read about my long day by clicking on: Long Journey

The first full day in Mexico City on my previous trip was on March 4th. I wrote a post that tied in one of my favorite joke dates and the History of Mexico. Click on March Forth and Conquer for more details.

Coyoacan, Carl Zeiss Mexico Office, office compound

Again on this trip I will be spending most of my time at the office in Coyoacan. It is a good thing that it is in a beautiful area.

I wrote several posts about the area and shared some beautiful pictures of flowers, trees and architecture. I also wrote about some of the history of the area.

One of the neighborhoods that is close to the office is Santa Catarina. The picture above shows an old church that the neighborhood is centered around. Click on the link for more details.

Some of the other posts from the area around the office are Colorful Coyoacan Trees, Artistic Thursday and Streets of Coyoacan.

Mexico City - Spring - Jacaranda Tree - Coyoacan - Purple Blooms - Pretoria

Since it was spring time the beautiful Jacaranda trees were in bloom. I am wondering if the fall colors are starting to show since it is the end of summer.

I also wrote two posts about Coca-Cola while in Mexico City: Coke and a Smile and Coca-Cola in Mexico It definitely has a distinctive taste there. Even though I can buy Mexican Coke here in California, I want to have some there 🙂

Aporreado con huevo - Scrambled Eggs - Salted Beef - Salsa - Peppers - Restaurant El Cardenal - Mexican Breakfast

Of course, you know that I also had to write about food. Two posts were specifically about food: American Food Thursday and Pre-Flight Breakfast

There are food images in some of the other posts, so if you are just looking for my food thoughts you will have to take a look at some of the other posts.

Pyramid of the Moon - Teotihuacan - Piramide de la Luna - Mexico Pyramids - Archaeology

I am not yet sure what I will be doing next weekend between my two courses, but on the last trip I visited the center of Mexico City and Teotihuacan. You can read about these two days in Back in Time and The Piramides.

Of course there is one more thing that I want to be better on this trip. During my last trip I was sick for a couple of days. I wrote about the experience in Montezuma’s Revenge.

I hope you enjoyed a review of my previous trip and hope to bring you more interesting wanderings from this one.

Steven
