Today I got an anonymous tip that Home Pride Bread and Wonder Bread will be returning to shelves in California at the start of the last full week of the month. I am not sure if they will be in all the outlets they were before, or just at a single launch customer.

I have a good hunch as to who sent me the anonymous tip, and if I am correct I know that it is reliable.

In my last Home Pride Update I shared information from the latest Flowers Foods Investor presentation.

The investor presentation had one slide titled “Brands Reintroduction – early Fall 2013”. The slide showed the brands that they had acquired from Hostess Brands.

The first day of fall is September 22, so it looks like they are going to make it very early Fall 2013 here in California.

I am really excited to find out if my anonymous source is correct. If so, the next loaf of bread that I buy will be Home Pride Wheat.

I will be on a business trip to Mexico for the next two weeks and hopefully Home Pride Wheat will be on the shelves when I return.

Of course, I will be monitoring the news to find out when it happens and will share any news that I find. I will also be monitoring my comments, so please let me know if you see Home Pride Bread back on the shelves. Luckily this time when I travel I will be somewhere where I have reliable internet access and will not be On Hiatus.
