I have been visiting my sister this weekend. She has two dogs that are really cute, but my favorite one is Bentley.
Bentley is a cute Yorkshire Terrier and is so full of energy. He will follow you around the house and is always jumping up and down trying to get your attention.
With Bentley around I have been thinking of some of the family dogs that we have had through the years.
Here is one of our first dogs.
Here I am with my big sister and our collie Lucky Charms II. Yes, there was a Lucky Charms as well and he was named after our favorite cereal. After Lucky Charms went away we got Lucky Charms II. When we moved to a house with a smaller yard, Lucky Charms went to live on a farm with some of our good friends.
Instead we got a much smaller dog.
This is my dog Pat. We got Pat because it was recommend for me as I had asthma. I am not sure of the details as to why it was beneficial, but I really loved this dog. She was with us for many years. She also had several litters of puppies that were given to others. One of the litters had a poodle for a father. We called them choodles. They had a very interesting look :-).
I have so many memories of Pat, perhaps I will share some of them in the future.
Did you have a dog?
What type of dog was it?

The picture of you and your sister with Lucky Charms II is great. It reminds me of similar old photos that I have of my brother and me playing with farm cats.
As an adult, we had two wonderful dogs–but I don’t have one now.
I had a black labrador named Lucille when I was very little and we lived in West Virginia. When we moved away we were forced to leave her with our neighbor. I sang, “You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille…”by Kenny Rogers for months after that. My little 4-year old heart was broken. The move…leaving my family…leaving my dog… I swore off dogs after that. It was traumatic.
I didn’t get another dog until I was 29 and married my husband. He already had a chihuahua so I sort of adopted him. Two years later we added a chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund).
Cute name, ‘Lucky Charms’. I always love the colours in these vintage photo’s too. We had a dog in our house, he really didn’t like any of us kids. It was my moms poodle and he would growl and bite us. Later, after I’d already left home, my brother got a German Shepard named Rambo who was adorable. So I prefer to remember him.
We had a chocolate brown Chihuahua named Pepe when we were growing up. No dog now.
