April Showers are supposed to bring May Flowers, but here in California we don’t often get rain in April. We get rain earlier in the year when many of the areas of the country are getting snow.
So, we get April flowers instead of the showers.
Tonight I will simply be sharing some of the April flowers. It has been a long day and the other post ideas I had for tonight needed too much research :-). We will start with these beautiful purple flowers that were growing at a friend’s house. The next two pictures are also from the same place.
Here we have some beautiful blossoms that are growing on a vine. They have a nice mix of orange, yellow and red in their coloring.
This rose has similar coloring. I like the mix of orange and red in this beautiful rose.
So, what was I thinking about posting tonight? Here was one of the ideas.
Tomorrow is April 15. The day that the Pulitzer Prize winners are announced. I had thought of giving my prediction as to what book might win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. But, I will wait until tomorrow and actually write a post about which book is the winner and we will see if I have still read all the winners for Fiction or whether I have another one to read :-).
Of course, April 15 is also when taxes are due. I am glad that I finished mine last week :-).
So, now for the final two flower pictures.
Here is one view of my rose bushes. The first bush that you see is a floribunda with a multitude of beautiful yellow roses. The next bush in the row is mostly hidden, but if you look closely you cans see a pink rose hiding among the yellow blooms. Then the next rose is a Tropicana with the beautiful coral/orange blooms.
In this picture you can again see the Tropicana roses in the front. Behind the Tropicana is a St. Patrick rose bush and then two Yellow Peace rose bushes. They are all in full bloom and some of the blooms are even starting to fade away. It will be time for a pruning before the end of the week.
