Great Customer Service

On the way home this evening my mind was wandering all over the place as I was thinking of what to post about. However, when I got home my thoughts about what to post changed dramatically as I had a package waiting for me on my doorstep.

Of course, I knew what was in the package as it was from Christianbook.com. However, as I picked it up it felt a little light for what I had ordered. When I opened up the box about ten minutes later I found that only half of my order had shipped.

I inspected the invoice and found that there was no notification that it was a partial shipment. I had ordered two copies of the Zondervan Atlas of the Bible, and there was only one copy in the box.

When I placed my order last week I decided to order two copies so that I could take advantage of free shipping and also have one to give as a gift. They were on sale and I basically got two books for the price of one. A great bargain. Especially when you throw in the free shipping. I want to thank my friends Ferrell and Barry for letting me know that this great book by Carl G. Rasmussen was on sale for a great price. I wanted to have some great pictures and maps that would help bring back memories of my trip to Israel earlier this year.

I called Christianbook.com and was surprised that their customer service department was still open at almost 7:00 PM PST. I explained that I had only received one copy of the book. The customer service agent asked me if it was time sensitive for me to get the second book. She was very helpful and was starting to process the order when a thought came to me. I asked her if I could have the book sent to a different address. I made a quick decision as to who I wanted to give the second copy to. Actually, it was not a hard decision as I had already been thinking about who would really enjoy the book. I will not say who it is going to as I want it to be a surprise :-).

I thanked the call center agent for her help and then settled in to take a good look at my new book. The book is a great storehouse of knowledge and is filled with great maps, pictures and illustrations that bring the land of the Bible alive. I look forward to exploring it further over the next few days.

Thanks to Christianbook.com for your great customer service. I will be ordering from you again in the future.

Steven
