More Turkeys

In my post last Wednesday titled Turkey Month, I mentioned that we have wild turkeys that live near our office. I also mentioned that sometimes they like to stand on vehicles.Wild Turkey - Thanksgiving - Dublin, California - Turkey on Car

Here we have a turkey standing on the roof of an SUV in our parking lot. I am sure that the owner was not too happy about the little gifts that the turkey left on top of the vehicle. I imagine that there were a few scratches along with the other items that were left. However, I really like the coloring of the feathers on this turkey. The upper feathers are iridescent and the pattern of the white in the tail feathers and on the lower body are fascinating.

Here we have a two turkey vehicle.Wild Turkeys on Car - Wild Turkey - Thanksgiving - Dublin, CaliforniaThe two turkeys are basking in the late fall sun as they roost on top of this SUV. The turkey to the right looks like it is ready to jump down. Again, the coloration of the birds are really fascinating.

It is hard to imagine that Thanksgiving is only just a week away. It is the earliest in the month that Thanksgiving can occur, so it seems so early. There will be much more time for shopping between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. I am sure that the retailers are all looking forward to this time.

I have even started to get e-mails about Black Friday sales. Some of them even start on Thanksgiving evening instead of at Midnight as they have in past years. I feel sorry for the workers who will have to leave their Thanksgiving dinners early to go get ready for the crowds.

Are you ready for some turkey, or are you looking past Thanksgiving to all the holiday sales?

  1. These are some great photos of turkeys. 🙂 I have heard that wild turkeys are fast, can fly, and are aggressive. Have you noticed that in any of these?

Eeeek, hand those two a mirror, they sure were last in the ‘beauty’ line up…poor things. I love to eat turkey anytime..with lots of stuffing.

Love Thanksgiving!!! Your turkeys are funny, but not if they got on my car.
