OK, so maybe it isn’t quite this cold here in California. But, for us it is a bit chilly this evening. I took the picture above in Antarctica. You can read more about the picture in Cold Water Pics.
The temperatures here have dropped into the 40’s and should continue to drop down into the 30’s overnight. The forecast low for Sunday is 33 degrees which is unseasonably cold for us. Even on the coldest days of the year, the average low is only 37.
However, this is a fun time when I can pull out a heavier sweater or coat from the clothes archive. I have some nice rarely used cold weather gear that usually only comes out when I travel :-).
The cold weather will hasten the arrival of color in some of the trees that are still green. I am looking forward to scenes like this in the next few weeks.
I hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful change in the season. Especially my friends in the southern hemisphere where spring is causing flowers to spring up instead of the falling leaves of fall that we have here.
Steven

It’s a little chilly here too and there’s a snowstorm depositing a beautiful fresh coat onto everything.
i like the autumn color shot sort of goes with the building color behind it
The water looks so blue in the Antarctica photo. It’s beautiful. Is it really that vivid?
The water was very clear and reflected what was around it. The views of the water were incredible. I talk a little more about it in the Cold Water Pics post.
Great tree lined street Steven, I love shopping on streets like that. No mall parking and indoor walking. My friend Alys at Gardening Nirvana was telling me about the weather change. Alys is in San Jose. Hard to beleive Oct 31 was 81 F…changing fast. Hope you won’t have any frozen plants or outdoor plumbing problems..stay warm!
Yes, it was only a few short days ago when we had record high temps :-). The forecast has been revised to a low of 38, so we shouldn’t get any freezing. My roses will still be blooming :-).
Gorgeous picture!!!
