Re-routed

The adventure has begun with changes after just my first flight.

I arrived at the airport in Chicago only to find out that due to strikes in Frankfurt my next flight was cancelled. I calmly walked to the gate to find out what I needed to do.

I was told that I would be put on the same flight tomorrow, but that would not get me to Tel Aviv on time. I asked why I had not already been rerouted through Munich as other Business class passengers had. They told me that it was because I had not checked in with them in time and it was first come, first serve.

With some gentle insistence and suggestions the Lufthansa gate agents worked with United and I was rebooked on United in the morning.

I am now at my Hotel ready to go enjoy a nice free dinner. Then a nice comfortable bed to sleep in.

So, instead of a nine hour layover in Frankfurt and a ten hour wait in Tel Aviv for the tour group to arrive I now get a good night of sleep. Oh, and a First Class seat all the way to Israel is nice :-). Then only about a four hour wait for the rest of the group.
