Ice Cream after Digging

I am now home from Israel, but am remembering the ice cream that we had after A Week of Digging.

On the Thursday of the first week, after taking a tour of our own squares, we had lunch at the dig site.

Lachish, Israel, Archaeology, Ramp, GatesWe then made a trip to nearby Lachish to learn more about the area where we were digging. Of course, this is a site that I know well as I have spent four weeks digging there. I need to write an update post about Lachish sometime with more pictures. However, since I am tired tonight I will share pictures of where we went next.

I am also thinking about ice cream tonight as we will be having a ice cream at work tomorrow afternoon to celebrate something.

Beautiful Sunrises

I am not much of a morning person so do not often see sunrises.

However, on my recent trip to Israel I saw the sunrise most every day. Especially since we got on the bus at 4:30 each morning.

Since I am very tired this evening I will share a few sunrise pictures.

Khirbet al-Ra'i, sunrise, archaeological dig, ziklagThis was often the view as we toiled up the hill to the dig site each day.

By this time we are usually hard at work, but sometimes you just have to take a moment and snap some pictures.
