Pictures from the Weekend in Toronto

Tonight I have decided to just share a few interesting pictures that I took this weekend.

Prius, First hybrid drive, hybrid, toronto, weekendI have a PriusV as a rental car. I had never driven a Prius before, so this was a new experience. I am slowly getting used to it since I have driven it quite a bit in the last three days.

Toronto, Canada, Horns on car, rancher, weird stuffHaving gone to school in ranch country and having lived in Texas, seeing horns on a car was not so unusual. However, seeing horns on a car in Canada was quite interesting.

Kingbridge Centre, Pond, Canadian Goose, fountainAs I have walked to the car each day I pass a nice pond that has a fountain in the middle. There is usually a nice flock of Canada Geese on the bank of the pond. While driving back home on Friday evening I also saw a skunk by the pond.

This morning as I walked out to the car I noticed that some of the leaves on the trees are starting to change color. Fall is not too far away, especially further north here in Canada.

I really enjoyed having a nice weekend relaxing with friends.

Now to prepare myself mentally for my next course that starts in the morning.

A Birthday Picnic

Today I had a great time attending a picnic for a friend’s birthday. It is nice when you are traveling to be somewhere at just the right time. Since I often come to Toronto, I have some good friends here.

Today we celebrated the 50th birthday of my friend Rose. I have known Rose for eight years since I first visited the church in Toronto where my friend John preaches.

I also just happened to be in town five years ago and was invited to A Birthday Feast then.

I had brought this shirt with me to Canada during my last visit and then had seen a picture of John wearing his. I then had to check and see if I had left my shirt there. So, we decided to both wear our green shirts.

There was a lot of food at the party. Most of the food was Filipino food, but there were a few other cuisines represented as well.

I really like this picture of Rose. She is so happy from being surrounded by her family and friends who helped her celebrate her birthday.

I will see many of the people who were at the picnic again tomorrow morning at church services. I have really enjoyed getting to know them over the past eight years during my visits to Toronto.
