Packing Formula Solved

Tonight I packed my suitcase for the trip home. Clifford the Big Red Suitcase is now almost ready to go.

My flight leaves tomorrow in early afternoon and I arrive back home in the evening. Then for a long drive home, but traffic should be light.

Heading home the packing formula is more about solving the geometry, instead of deciding what to pack. It is not difficult to figure out what to pack, but how to pack.

I knew that I would probably be bringing back more that I took, so I made sure to leave some extra room in the suitcase on the way.

Tonight it was fun trying to figure out where everything fit in my bags. It was like playing Tetris.

This picture from a previous trip is representative of the full suitcase, but I had to unzip the expansion to make a little bit more room this time. The fleece and shaving kit in the picture above will need to be added to the suitcase in the morning, but they have a spot. I am wearing the fleece now and will use the shaving kit in the morning before the final pack.

I even have a full outer pocket, but just an old blanket. Also some things go in my carry on bags that normally wouldn’t be there.

Now for some sleep before two flights tomorrow.

Thursday Throwback – Iowa Cornfield

I am on vacation this week and have not had much time to write something new, so am going to share something I wrote four years ago after returning home from my last trip to where I am tonight.

I am tired tonight after a long week, so will just post some pictures of an Iowa cornfield.

So many memories of Iowa are brought back when I see a field of corn. My mind is really wandering now, so I will get this posted.

This year I am here a bit later and the corn has already been harvested. Instead I got to look out and see the remnants of fallen snow.

I fly home this weekend and next week you will see some pictures from my vacation.
