Wednesday Image Search – Pot

Welcome to another Wednesday Image Search where I pick a string of letters or a word and share some of the images I find in an image search of the blog.

Last week I searched for ‘pet’, so this week I decided to search for a similar string.

Tonight I will search for ‘pot’.

What images will I find?

rubber band, ball, pottery, pot, glazed, junior high art classFirst we have a hand-made glazed pot that I made back in my school days. I still use this to store things in so many years later.

Pottery Reading, Tel Lachish, Archaeology, pottery, archaeological dig, GarfinkelThis image brings back some good memories. Here the archaeologists on one of the digs I have been on are reading pottery.

Hot Pot, China, shanghai, Pudong, Chinese Food, pig bones, noodlesNext we have a Hot Pot dinner in Shanghai, China.

Platform 9 3/4, London, Kings Cross StationI had a lot of images related to Harry Potter, including this picture of Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross in London.

Potato Skins, TGI Fridays, Loaded Skins, Potatoes, Bacon, CheeseI will end with a picture of potato skins, just in case you have the munchies.

These images show that ‘pot’ is a sequence used in many words.

Which is your favorite ‘pot’ picture?

What should I search for next? Perhaps I will choose another string with unexpected results.

Oak Island – Connecting Portugal

Season 9 of The Curse of Oak Island is drawing to a close. This week they started excavating in the last large can of the season.

Part of the team was also off on an excursion to Portugal.

Curse of Oak Island, History Channel, Did they find anything? While metal detecting on Lot 8 they found a couple of interesting items. One is a very old hinge and the other was a part of an old musket.

They showed some really interesting scans of the musket which may be able to better date and locate where it came from.

The hinge could be from as early as the 1400’s.

oak Island, Money Pit, Mahone BayThey did not show much of the spoils coming up from the large can as they were not very deep and most of it would have been previous fill.

Oak Island, Money Pit, National Geographic, Curse of Oak IslandIn Portugal they visited churches and fortresses in an area of early Templar activity.

They looked for similar symbols to see if they could find connections to Oak Island. They also looked at types of crosses and were able to find some similarities between Nolan’s Cross on Oak Island and the cross of the Order of Christ.

Curse of Oak Island, Mahone Bay, Nova ScotiaThey also walked down an old stone road created by the Romans and talked about how it was similar to the stone road on Oak Island. They also showed an extension of the road that looked similar to the stone paths on the island.

There is much more investigation of the the substrate of the stone road that needs to be done to show the similarities. The surface of roads are much more similar than what is beneath.

oak island, curse of oak lsland, satellite, money pitThe preview for next week showed the fifth metal can going deeper, but no finds coming up.

The preview also showed them looking for the continuation of the stone road.

Part of the team is still in Portugal and they show them visiting a structure that has levels similar to the original money pit. Is there a connection?

Is there really a connection between Portugal and Oak Island? I really don’t see a solid connection, but maybe they will find something.

What did they find? How exciting will it be next week?
