Virtual Hike to Salisbury, New Brunswick

The next destination on my Virtual Hike was Salisbury, New Brunswick.

salisbury, new Brunswick, Virtual hike, canadaThe previous destination on my virtual hike was to Sackville, New Brunswick.

Sackville New Brunswick, Canada, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Virtual Hike, AncestorsSackville was where my 7th great-grandfather, Dr. John Jenks, had lived at one time long ago.

Dr. John Jenks attended the first town meeting of Sackville, New Brunswick in 1762. Dr. Jenks was part of a group of settlers know as the New England Planters.

Due to the expulsion of the Acadians from New Brunswick in the 1750’s there was a lot of land available there. Many New Englanders moved north to New Brunswick to take advantage of the vacant land. Dr. Jenks moved to Sackville along with a group of settlers from Smithfield, Rhode Island.

Salisbury, new brunswick, virtual hike, canada, hikingThe virtual hike from Sackville to Salisbury is mostly over flat terrain and through rural areas except for a stretch through Moncton.

There was no specific reason to choose Salisbury as a destination, but it was along the route back to the US. I am setting shorter distances between destinations for better motivation for my daily walking.

My current plan is to make my way toward northern New York through Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Perhaps I can find some interesting stops along the way.

Wednesday Image Search – Tea

Welcome to another Wednesday Image Search where I pick a string of letters or a word and share some of the images I find in an image search of the blog.

After searching for ‘rea’ last week I will search for ‘tea’ this week.

What images will I find?

Bamboo steamer, chinese food, mantou, steamed breadThe first image is of my bamboo steamer. I have an interesting steam source for when I use this. I have an egg cooker that I use to generate steam.

Tracy, California - Tracy Historic Museum - Tank Town - European Train Enthusiasts - Model Train Layout - MuralFor the second image here is a steam engine from a modular model train layout. Each year they usually set up at the local museum for a couple weeks. They have been on hiatus for the last few years, but hopefully will return soon.

bbq, taipei, grill, beef, foodHere we have a steak cooking over a charcoal grill in a Taipei restaurant. Later we also cooked some seafood.  Taipei has been on my mind after the events this week in Taiwan.

2-mile relay team, track and field, league championsHere I am with one of the relay teams I was on in High School. We were the conference champions in the 2 mile relay my freshman year.

Loose tea, Saturday Tea Towel, tea, loose leaf tea, leaf teaFinally we have a picture showing some of the types of tea I have at home.

I had some interesting ‘tea’ pictures to choose from. Of course there were a lot of tea (the drink) pictures, but I decide to diversify a bit.

Which is your favorite of these ‘tea’ pictures?

What should I search for next? I still have one more ‘ea’ search I want to share. Any suggestions?
