They showed progress on the latest bore hole as it goes deeper into the Chappell Vault area. They found a long piece of narrow but heavy pipe that could be a drill bit.

They also ran into more wood beams that they are investigating to find out what their purpose was.Curse of Oak Island, mystery, curse, oak island, Google Maps, Island locationsThey continued to work in the area of the circular rock feature and a small metal piece with potential decorations on it was found.

In the lab they looked at some small metal pieces that had previously been found. They look to be part of a small box or chest. They then looked at the piece that was just found along with others that could be the strap of a chest.

Back at the excavation squares they found a bead that was said to be similar to a Venetian bead found earlier. In this case it turned out to be almost identical.

During sifting they also found another coin. It seems to be a larger coin than those found before. They did see some detail near the edge, and they should be able to image the coin to see what it looks like over the entire surface.

Near the end of the episode they found a barrel stave in the area near the edge of the swamp. No metal is being found but Gary is also keeping an eye out for wood and rocks.

In the preview for next week they showed them finding some large shards of pottery in the swamp area. They showed them discussing the two beads that were found, and also some drilling in the bottom of the Garden Shaft. The preview ended with the team at the core drilling site and the words ‘We found it.’

What did they find?

Some interesting developments this week as they continue to hunt for the slippery treasure.

Mexican Ramen

When you think of ramen noodles you usually don’t think of Mexican food.

However, there is a company that makes instant Mexican Ramen.

Tapatio, ramen, Mexican ramen, noodles, cuisine, chopsticksTapatío uses their well known spicy sauce for the flavor of their ramen noodles.

I like the top of the container with the man wearing a large sombrero.

I like hot food, so this is not too hot for me. However, it is a bit hotter than the ramen flavors that are Asian inspired. A recurring during my recent trip to Thailand was them always being worried that the food was too hot for me. The food was spicy, but not hot spicy. I believe that Mexican food is usually hotter.

Tapatio, ramen, Mexican ramen, noodles, cuisine, chopsticksHere is how it looked after adding the water and letting it cook the noodles. The spice did not migrate much through the bowl. If I try it again I will spread the spice out more before adding the hot water.

I will look for and try the extra spicy version to see how it tastes. I will have to go somewhere else to look for it, as it is not carried at my grocery store.

Have you tried Mexican instant Ramen?
