Happy Lunar New Year!

This year is the Year of the Dragon.

The picture above is of a buffet in Toronto that I have visited several times over the years.

Last year was the year of the Rabbit or Cat. It depends on which country or culture you are from.

The Year of the Dragon reminds me of a balloon parade I went to when I was a kid in Ottumwa, Iowa. See: Ottumwa Balloon Parade

I was going to go eat some tonkatsu at a local Korean restaurant tonight, but it was closed. Perhaps they were taking the New Year off. I tried a couple other nearby Asian restaurants, but they had lines out the door. Instead, I found some Broccoli Beef in my freezer to heat up.

I did hear fireworks go off in my neighborhood as I was going to bed last night at midnight. They were celebrating the start of the Year of the Dragon.

I have many friends and colleagues that celebrate the Lunar New Year, and I wish you all a great year.
