The Curse of Oak Island season 11 continues with the finding of more interesting items.

The causeway to the island continues to be busy with all the workers and the experts that look at the finds.

Tonight they held a meeting in the war room and announced that they would not sink any caissons in the Money Pit area this year. They have not been able to definitively identify targets for the caissons, so will wait for next year. Instead they will concentrate on the Garden Shaft.

It is interesting that they are talking about a next year.

They showed progress in the Garden Shaft as they have extended it almost to the depth they are looking to reach.

They continued digging at the swamp edge and found some more stones in a line, which may be an extension of the stone road.

They also started to find some large pottery fragments with Chinese patterns. Perhaps objects used to serve tea. The fragments are from different time periods and origins, which make them interesting.

In the lab they looked at the coin and the glass beads that they recently found in the area of the circular stone feature. The coin was a large penny from the mid-1700’s in England, which means that it could be from before the discovery of the Money Pit.

They went and visited an expert to learn more about the beads. The beads are pulled glass beads from Venice, and date back to between 1500 and 1650. The beads would have been used for trade in the colonies and would have been of quite a bit of value.

Near the end of the episode they showed them drilling deeper below the bottom of the Garden Shaft. They ran into some wood and they recovered a sample to send off for C14 dating. Did they just find the tunnel that runs toward the Baby Blob?

In the preview for next week they showed them finding a large stone in the swamp. They also brought up a metal piece from the core drilling program which looks to be of great interest.

What did they find?

Some interesting developments this week as they continue to hunt for the slippery treasure.
