I have been waiting for the past week for the delivery of a new stamp album.
I had been checking and found that it would be delivered on Monday, but today when I checked I found that the delivery had been pushed up.
To get ready for the new album, I pulled out the last album that I worked with. This album went up to the mid 60’s and I did a lot of work on it when I was in Jr. High school.
Quite a few of the pages of the album were complete, including a lot of never used stamps.
I was working on my computer finishing up some work when I heard a thump outside my front door. It was nice to see the package from Mystic Stamp Company.
I opened up the package and found that the binder and pages were separate. The binder came with a slip case and was of really good quality. The album is the second of the series and covers the mid-30’s to the mid-60’s which covers most of my childhood collection.
The album is a hingeless album which is something new to me, but a great innovation from when I worked on my collection before.
Here is a page from my old album. These are the earliest ones in the new album from the old one, so it is where I started.
It may be a bit hard to see, but you can see the built in mounts in the new album that protect the stamps. It was so easy to place the stamps in the new album.
Now the big job starts of transferring stamps from my old albums to the new one. Once I get the stamps all transferred I can start to decide which stamp to acquire. I am already making a mental list. Perhaps the Boulder Dam stamp needs to be acquired.
I have a lot of thoughts running through my head after looking at stamps that show so much history.
You get a great education from collecting stamps.
Steven
