Oak Island – Draining Water

The Curse of Oak Island season 11 continues with more investigation in the Garden Shaft , Swamp and Circular Structure areas. This week they started by climbing down in the Garden Shaft to look at the cavity that was found.

Curse of Oak Island, mystery, curse, oak island, Google Maps, Island locations Tonight they talked about stopping the ingress of water into the Garden Shaft and how they will drain the water. They also started draining the swamp again since they have received the proper permit.

The archaeology team working around the circular stone structure found a small ring and also a thinner rectangular metal piece that is not large enough to be a fastener or tool. It will be interesting to see the analysis of the metal and the shape of the rod without the corrosion.

Curse of Oak Island, mystery, curse, oak island, Google Maps, Island locationsThe team talked to an expert in the war room about the finding of an old map by surveyor Charles Morris. The map has Masonic ciphers that may tie William Phips and his colleague Johnathan Belcher to the Masons.

They talked for the first time in weeks about the Templars and their involvement with Oak Island, since they now have this connection to the Masons.

It was interesting as they talked about the map and symbols and talked about how some symbols looked exactly like others they have found that are just similar.

At the circular structure they outlined where a deeper structure would be based on the magnetometry survey. They were surprised by the size of the structure. Shortly after they discovered a piece of stone that had similar inscribed lines on both sides of it. To me it looks like a broken rim of a square or rectangular vessel, or perhaps an edge of a tablet.

While digging down along the edge of the swamp they found a piece of wood with Roman numerals on it. It will be interesting if they find more, as this would be an additional spot on the island where they have found Roman numerals.

In the same area they also found a length of chain with links that showed through the corrosion and also a separate hook that were brought up together. It will be interesting to see a scan of the chain as it has a possible larger object at the end of it.

In the preview for next week they showed excitement when finding objects in both the circular structure area and the edge of the swamp. They also showed a clip of them talking about the chain that was found.  The results of the sonar scans in Aladdin’s cave were shown. The scans look interesting.

Some interesting developments this week as they continue to hunt for the slippery treasure.
