The Curse of Oak Island season 11 continues with more investigation in the Garden Shaft and Money Pit areas. This week they started by dropping the sonar device down into Aladdin’s Cave for a better look at the opening.

The causeway to the island continues to be busy with all the workers and the experts that look at the finds.

Tonight they continued to work in the Garden Shaft to find why water was leaking into the shaft after the storms. They do not believe that it is connected to the heavy rain from the storms that were in the area. There is a plan to slow the water down and there are many questions as to why the water is there.

The archaeology team working around the circular stone structure was also slowed down as the area was flooded from the rains. However, it dried out and they were able to start to get a better idea of the placement of the stones in the area.

They had decided to drill another bore hole into Aladdin’s cave so they could again drop a camera and sonar scanner down to get a view from a different perspective. In the first part of the episode they showed sonar images from the previous hole.

The camera was dropped into the second hole and they were able to see what looks like a tunnel coming in the void. They were not able to get a real clear look, but it was evident that there was a large opening. They plan on doing a sonar scan in this hole also to get a better idea of the walls of the void.

At the circular stone structure the archaeology team found some more metal objects including what may be a barrel hoop. This may point to occupation there prior to the Money Pit.

Near the end of the show they showed some progress on determining what is causing the water ingress in the Garden Shaft. They found a void off to the side that may be an offset chamber or tunnel. Once they can drain the shaft, they will continue to investigate it. It was good to have another look underground at things that they have not seen before.

They made it through another episode this week without a single mention of the Templars. Instead there were multiple mentions of William Phips. Is there a shift in focus happening?

In the preview for next week they showed them starting to drain the swamp again. They also showed excitement for a find in the Circular Structure area. It looks like there will a start of investigating the void off the Garden Shaft. The grail was also mentioned in connection to another theory.

Some interesting developments this week as they continue to hunt for the slippery treasure.
