Oak Island – Aladdin’s Cave

The Curse of Oak Island season 11 is off to a good start as work gets underway to reopen different areas of investigation. This week they have been investigating a feature known as Aladdin’s Cave.

Curse of Oak Island, mystery, curse, oak island, Google Maps, Island locationsThe causeway to the island has been busy as more and more workers return to the island and large equipment is arriving.

The archaeology team working around the circular stone structure continue to find artifacts like pottery, but also metal objects. Some metal objects were sent to the lab and there is a possible handle that is made from old iron, and an old iron spike.

The results show a large open are with perhaps an entrance. The floor slopes away and it is difficult to see the bottom, so another bore hole will be sunk into Aladdin’s Cave for a better look.

Curse of Oak Island, mystery, curse, oak island, Google Maps, Island locationsThe results from a new Geo-magnetic survey near the circular stone feature were returned and it looks like may be a larger rectangle structure below the stone feature.

I think that they made it through an entire episode without mentioning the Templars. Instead they spent a large amount of time talking about a theory centered around William Phips and some treasure that he recovered in the Caribbean in the late 17th century. The majority of the treasure disappeared when it was being taken to England and may have been taken to Oak Island. There are a lot of artifacts from this time period on Oak Island.

In the preview for next week they showed some more excitement as they lowered a camera and sonar probe into the second Aladdin’s Cave bore hole. They also found a metal object in the square near the circular stone feature on lot 5, and team members went back down into the Garden Shaft with some drama about leaking water. Looks like an interesting episode.

Some interesting developments this week as they continue to hunt for the slippery treasure.

1 Response to Oak Island – Aladdin’s Cave

To my eyes, the muon images appear to show Aladdin’s Cave full of large boxes. Am I seeing things, or are the team members not seeing the same thing?
