Oak Island – Muon Results

The Curse of Oak Island season 11 is off to a good start as work gets underway to reopen different areas of investigation. Last week they finally started bringing in equipment to restart the Garden Shaft expansion.

Last week I was on the road and also had internet issues. See: Internet MIA II

I did make a short post: This Week on Oak Island?

Curse of Oak Island, mystery, curse, oak island, Google Maps, Island locationsThe causeway to the island is again busy as more and more workers return to the island. Last week large equipment made the crossing.

They then showed a meeting where the Muon data was disclosed. Multiple voids and features were shown and they started talking about a plan to investigate them. One significant anomaly was what had previously been dubbed Aladdin’s Cave.

The archaeology team found what seems to be fused chain links and they were sent to the lab for further investigation. They talked about how the site was abandoned in the early to mid 1700’s and buried. This would have been a common occurrence in the area as the Acadians were expelled and had to give up their land. Is this the reason?

The crew is now drilling in a the area of Aladdin’s Cave. The first hole found a void and they will wait for silt to settle before sending down a camera and sonar device to further investigate.

Metal detecting was again conducted on Lot 5 with another interesting item found. After analysis in the lab they found that it was another lead bag seal, but not a close match to the previous one that was found. It was a seal for a cloth bundle from London.

Near the end of the episode they showed the start of a new Geo-magnetic survey near the circular stone feature. At least one anomaly was found, but the data has to be sent off for processing once the survey is finished before they get details.

In the preview for next week they showed some excitement as they lowered the camera and sonar probe into the Aladdin’s Cave bore hole. They also found a metal object in the square on Lot 5. Looks like there will be some interesting new information.

Some interesting developments this week as they continue to hunt for the slippery treasure.
