The first episode of the 11th season of The Curse of Oak Island airs tomorrow on the History channel.
Leading up to the premier they showed a recap of last season this evening. They also showed a short preview from the first episode.
In the past weeks they have shown several recap episodes.
Top 10 Ancient Structures
Top 10 Treasure Theories
Top Moments from Season Ten
Top Ten Finds of Season Ten
We do know that they experienced bad weather multiple times during the season, and it will most likely be a big story line as the season progresses.
It would be interesting to see how they show the effects of weather throughout the year. There was a huge rainstorm and flooding earlier in the year, which most likely affected work in the swamp.
It would actually interesting to see what would have happened if they were hit harder by the storms. What would be exposed if a huge storm system hits the island? I know how rains effect a normal archaeological dig and they always secure the area during the rainy season. However, as spread out as the sites are on Oak Island and the large areas of beach there is sure to be something uncovered in a large storm.
In the preview of the first episode tonight they showed metal detecting on Lot 5, and it looks like they have found three old coins. We will most likely find out more about them and how old they are in the episode tomorrow.
In satellite pictures on map sites it looks like there is some activity in additional areas. It will be interesting to see what this activity is. The pier is in the older picture just above this one, but the area to the right seems to be new.
The operations at the site will probably have been completed by the time the season starts, however I have heard that there is still activity going on at the island this month. For them to stay this late in the year they must have some very good reason to stay.
What will they find this year? Will they find the slippery treasure and finally wrap up the show?

Hi Steven. Thank you for sharing your posts, I really enjoy your blog. I wanted to ask what WwRI – Written with Real Intelligence means. Is it as opposed to bloggers who use AI?
It is more of a statement that the post is written by a human in comparison with simply pulling together the thoughts of another with a computer program.
