34 Hour Saturday

Today has been a very long day and it has not quite ended yet.

I woke up this morning in Bangkok at about 2:30 to take a shower and finalize my packing.

Bangkok, SFO, Hotel, 787, 777, flying, airportI then went down to the lobby to check out and wait for my cab to the airport. There was some confusion with the cab, but it was soon resolved and I was on the way to the airport.

The picture above is from the inside of the lobby. The huge chandelier is reflected in the window above the street.

Bangkok, SFO, Hotel, 787, 777, flying, airportThe Bangkok airport has some interesting sculptures to look at.

Bangkok, SFO, Hotel, 787, 777, flying, airportMy flight was at 7:00 and I was soon on my way to Tokyo. The flight was on an ANA 787 which is my favorite jet. It has a bit more space and the cabin air is better.

After a short layover and a delay we took off to San Francisco at around 6:00 in the early evening.

Bangkok, SFO, Hotel, 787, 777, flying, airportThe flight to San Francisco was on a 777 which does not have a much room. However, I had an empty seat by me this time instead of being the smallest person in a full row on the way over. I was fortunate to have an empty seat by me on the other three flights of the trip.

Bangkok, SFO, Hotel, 787, 777, flying, airportAfter taking off from Tokyo on Saturday in the late afternoon on the long flight we landed in San Francisco at about 11:00 on Saturday morning.

After picking up my car and making the long drive home, I made it home before 1:00 on Saturday afternoon. By the clock/calendar it was only seven hours from my hotel to home. However with the time change it was about seventeen actual hours.

Glad to be home.

Steven
