Today was a rest day from my flight. I arrived at the hotel at about 2:00 AM this morning, so glad that I didn’t have to be up in only four hours to get ready to teach.
I spent a bit of time getting my bags in place and then was able to get some sleep. I thought about taking a shower before bed, but decided to not try and wake myself up too much. I woke up before the time I set my alarm for, but not too much later than I will have to get up during the week.
I then headed down to breakfast. There was a good mix of breakfast food to choose from, so I will have plenty of variety to choose from during the next two weeks.
After breakfast I took a walk to see where the office I will be working in for the next two weeks was. I was not able to go up to the office, but it is in upper floor in this building. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, and depending on the weather I will probably walk each day.
I visited a shopping mall looking for some things I want to buy while I am here, but made it back to the hotel without any purchases.
One of the things that I noticed during my walk was a large number of overhead wires along the way. I assume that most of them are data cables like phone, cable and network. I took a lot of pictures and they may be a subject of a future post.
I spent most of the afternoon taking it easy. I did some reading, and also some additional preparation for my course that starts tomorrow. I thought about taking a long walk, but it was hot and humid. I will make a plan for next weekend and will probably visit some of the places that I went to during my last trip. It will be much easier this time, as they now have an extensive Metro system.
I took a walk in the late afternoon and picked up some items at a nearby convenience store. I ended up just having a cup of noodles for my dinner as I was not too hungry and wanted to be in my room for a Zoom meeting this evening. I am sure you will see some good Thai food later in the week.
