Creme Soda Memories

This weekend I bought a can of soda from a vending machine at the grocery store.

Why did I just buy one can? I did not want to buy a 12-pack of soda just to get a taste that would bring back memories.

Shasta creme soda, pop, soda, memoriesHere is what I bought. I have been thinking about this soda for several weeks as it brings back some good memories.

boys dorm, midwestern school of evangelism, ottumwa, iowaThe Boy’s Dorm is no longer standing, but the stairs up from the street are still there. We lived across town, but would often visit him or other people in the dorms.

I remember one time going to visit and him getting the can of pop out of the refrigerator for me to enjoy. Shasta Cola was the first to use 12 ounce Aluminum cans for their pop. Of course, it was Shasta as he grew up in California where Shasta was first introduced. It had just recently expanded to the Midwest.

I have many memories of the Boy’s Dorm through the years.

I also have memories from the Girl’s Dorm which was just across the highway. Some are from visiting there with my Mom when I was little. Others are from much later visits.

You may have noticed that I used three terms for soft drinks in the post. Which term do you use? Soda, Cola or Pop?
