After teaching for a week in Canada, I do not need to take a flight home this weekend. I have been teaching virtually so I have not been away from home this week except for a quick trip to the mall to pick something up.
If I had been physically in Canada I would have spent a couple nights with friends and they would have taken me to the airport on Sunday.
I would then have to make it through immigration and customs as I get ready to board a flight on Air Canada to take me home.
I would finally board for a long flight on a narrow body aircraft with not a lot of leg room.
After landing at SFO there would be the long taxi to the gate and a long wait at the baggage claim.
After exiting the terminal at SFO I would then have to wait for the parking shuttle to go pick up my car and make the long drive home.
How will my body adjust to getting back on schedule after getting up early all week and not getting to sleep early each night. Will I have jet lag without the flight? At least I can sleep in tomorrow.
