This evening I took a long walk.
As I started my walk I pulled up my Bible app and I was at Mark chapter 4. I needed to listen to Luke chapters 1-2 to help prepare for my sermon tomorrow. I couldn’t just skip ahead, I had to listen through Mark to get there. So, I had a much needed long walk of about 7-8 miles.
While listening I thought of a trip that I took to Israel where I visited Bethlehem. There are a few more pictures of Bethlehem in my post O Little Town.
I also thought about a post I wrote titled Away in a Manger. Do you know what a manger would have looked like at the time of Christ?
I also thought about shepherds watching their flocks in the fields.
I also thought about Peace on Earth which is the title of my sermon tomorrow. The lesson will actually cover most of the events from Luke 1-2 and also the visit of the wise men from Matthew 2.
Here is an interesting question for you that I looked at in a previous post. Does the bible say that there were Three Wise Men?
My presentation tomorrow will also include some of my memories of A Thursday Afternoon in Jerusalem.
Now back to work on my sermon.
