Today was National Donut Day. Of course, it is also National Doughnut Day. Both are accepted spellings for the day.
National Donut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June each year. The day has been celebrated since 1938.
If you missed celebrating donuts today, you can celebrate International Jelly-Filled Doughnut Day next week.
On my way home from work today I stopped by Dunkin’ Donuts to buy some donuts.
I could have gotten a free donut, but I would have had to buy a drink. The drink would have cost more than several donuts and I didn’t need a drink. I only wanted the donuts.
I wanted a sour cream donut, but they didn’t have them on their menu. ???
I had to settle for an old-fashioned donut to get something similar
One of the slogans for Dunkin’ Donuts is America Runs on Dunkin’. I think that they are more concerned about their coffee than their donuts.
It would have been much nicer if I could have gone to a Tim Hortons. They have much better donuts.
Plus, I could have had a sour cream plain donut.
Maybe it is good that we don’t have Tim Hortons here as I would probably stop for a sausage biscuit every morning on the way to work.
Did you eat a donut today?
Steven
