Last week we had colleagues visiting from Japan, so one day we took them out to lunch at Yanagi Sushi.
I have eaten at Yanagi Sushi a few times and have always enjoyed it.
Of course we started off with some edemame. I always enjoy eating these soybeans before a nice Japanese meal.
We also started off with some nice miso soup. I try and make miso soup at home, but it is never quite as good as what I get in a restaurant.
There was also ginger and wasabi for those who were having sushi.
One of my colleagues had a dragon roll. I was able to try one of the pieces and it was not only beautiful but was also delicious.
I had one of my favorite dishes. This is katsudon which is a fried pork cutlet served in a rice bowl. The dish is topped with fried onions and egg.
The two Japanese colleagues who were with us both ordered the katsudon. Of course it is a very common lunch item in Japan.
The food was really good, but we also had a great time sharing a meal and also stories about our travels.
What is your favorite Japanese food?
