Asian Grocery

It is now the weekend and I am at my friends.

This evening we went to a big Asian grocery store. I took a few interesting pictures that I would like to share tonight.

We had visited this same grocery store during my last trip to Canada: Food in Canada and The Rice Aisle

Taro Root, Asian Grocery Store, Asian produce section, Toronto FoodThey have an awesome produce section. Here is some nice Taro Root. Doesn’t it look really pretty?

Now for the more interesting and maybe not to the taste of most Americans.

Chicken Feet, Asian Super Market, Meat Section, Meat Case, ButcherHow about some Chicken Feet. A common site in an Asian butcher shop.

Whole Chicken, Free run chicken, free range chicken, Chicken with legs attached, Asian ButcherMaybe you need more than just the feet. Here is a whole chicken in an Asian grocery. In most stores a whole chicken has the legs tucked under and is without the feet.

Free Run Chicken, Free Range Chicken, Mispelled Signs, Engrish, Chinglish, humorI guess the feet need to be kept on since they are Free Run Chicken. Do they mean Free Range Chicken? I always enjoy seeing misspelled tags and signs.

Misspelled Sign, Asian Market, chinglish, CakeHere is another sign, how about some Rectagul Black Forest Bar Cake [With Gelatine]?

After we finished shopping and accidentally going through the express lane with 40 items, we headed back and had a great dinner.

Now for the weekend.

    That’s gross!!!

  2. A huge culture shock seeing items that you typically wouldn’t see in grocery stores in other places.

We explore the culture of each country including their food so this is great help in getting a glimpse into their culture. http://www.AnthemCulture.com

  3. It’s not gross, it’s delicious!
