Today has been Siblings Day. I was off-line most of the day while I took the day off to get my eyes tested and do my taxes. When I checked Facebook late in the day it was very apparent that today was Siblings Day.
Siblings Day is not a federal holiday, but is recognized in most states. The day is of recent conception having only been celebrated for about 15 years.
I have four siblings, two brothers and two sisters. I am thinking of all of them this evening.
Late in the day I changed my profile picture on Facebook to one of my favorite pictures with my two eldest siblings.
At that time I was the middle child. I really like my older Sister’s long hair in this picture. We also were color coordinated with our red, white and blue outfits.
I was searching to find a picture of all five of us siblings together when we were young, but could not find the one I was looking for.
However, I did find this one of all of us. Here we are visiting our Great Grandma at the Kirkbridge in Clarinda, Iowa.
Can you tell that this picture was taken in the 70’s? Check out the cool Bert shirt that my brother is wearing.
My mind is wandering again. I am thinking of this picture that I put together for my friend Cindy’s birthday. Do we look a bit like Bobby and Cindy?
The Brady Bunch was definitely a great show about siblings.
Lots of memories this evening as I think about my siblings.
New glasses are on order and my taxes are submitted. My two main goals for the day were achieved. Mowing the lawn and shopping for a new TV were postponed due to a long nap.
Steven
I enjoyed the pictures of you and your siblings when you were children.
