There was a bit of noise in the neighborhood earlier this evening. I heard fireworks going off and knew without looking that the Giants must have won the World Series.
Of course, I did look to see what the final score was and found out that they had won in extra innings. There will be a lot of happy people at work tomorrow. However, I am not looking forward to the day they hold the big victory celebration in SF. Last time BART set a ridership record and traffic getting to work was horrible :-).
I am glad that the Giants won, but would much rather of it been the A’s or the Cardinals. It was a good year for my teams, but not quite good enough. I am deep at heart a Royals fan, but unfortunately they have had little success in the last two decades. Fortunately, they play in a different division than Oakland and I can support the closest team to me. But when it comes to football, there is no way that I can support the Oakland team. Go Chiefs!
So, to all the Giants fans around me. Congratulations! Have fun celebrating!

Update: The Big Giants Victory Parade will be on Wednesday at 11:00. I must remember to leave early for work on Wednesday. BART will be running the longest possible trains all day as they will also be providing extra service for the big annual Halloween Party in San Francisco. One day that I am glad that I don’t commute to work on BART. Most days I wish that BART was extended out further. Like today when I had horrible traffic.

Living in an Arkansas city of 9000, can’t relate to your traffic problems!! But with football I can 🙂
